How does integrative therapy work?

Our healthcare system has historically separated the mind and body and provided treatment accordingly. At Spirit of Health, we want to do things differently by recognizing and treating the whole person. By focusing on the mind, body, and spirit as they relate to your mental health, our practitioners work together to provide tailored, flexible treatment.

Balance mind, body, and spirit with integrative therapy

Many integrative therapy clinics offer a range of traditional therapy modalities under one roof, such as nutritional support and psychotherapy. At Spirit of Health, we take the mind-body connection a step further by including alternative therapies such as yoga, meditation, somatic (bodily) therapy, reiki, and other alternatives based on our community needs.

Learn more about our body-focused therapy practitioners below.

Yoga

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in ancient India that has been shown to reduce stress levels, improve overall health, and improve mental health. In your yoga class, you’ll learn a series of poses, stretches, and breathing practices that enhance your holistic health

Reiki

According to practitioners, reiki is a type of energy healing that releases stagnant energy in the body where you’ve experienced physical or emotional pain. Practitioners believe improving the body’s energy flow enables relaxation, relieves pain, speeds healing, and reduces symptoms of illness

Meditation

Meditation is an ancient Eastern mindfulness practice that focuses on transforming the mind, cultivating self-awareness, improving personal growth, and calming the mind and body

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapies help individuals become more aware of their bodies and learn somatic therapy techniques to release physical tension. These can include breathing exercises, sensation awareness, physical exercise, dance therapy, and grounding exercises

How integrative therapy works

Your lead practitioner will discuss these options with you following completion of the integrative assessment. You can also directly sign up for these therapies without the integrative assessment.
