Approaching mental health from a holistic angle

At Spirit of Health, we take an integrative approach to mental health, providing holistic mental health support that not only addresses your mind-related concerns but also impacts your body and spirit’s health. Our practitioners work together to balance mind, body, and spirit for an integrated healing journey that provides “whole-self” healing.

Our therapy treatment areas for adults

As we age, life can get a little complicated. Built-up stress, relationship conflict, life transitions, cultural issues, and more can hamper our quality of life and lead to mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. At Spirit of Health, we provide customized healing through a well-designed, integrative therapy plan.

Work stress

Have you been on short or long-term disability leave and need help transitioning back to work? Poor health can affect work in a number of ways, including attendance, productivity, engagement, and sometimes people need to take time off to recover and heal. We can work with you during your leave or transition back to work to reduce work-related stress.

Self-care

The most important relationship you’ll ever have is with yourself. But it can be difficult to build confidence and take up space in a world shaped by colonialism, patriarchy, and cultural conditioning. Our therapists and holistic practitioners will help you set healthy boundaries, engage in self-care, and improve your relationship with yourself, others, and the world.

Cultural issues

We work with many immigrants and children of immigrants with unique cultural issues. From caring for elders and children at the same time to navigating bicultural identities and intergenerational conflicts and traumas, these issues can be difficult to face. Our practitioners work closely with you to acknowledge the impact cultural issues have on your mental health and offer the inclusive space you need to work through them.

Parenting

Whether you’re a new parent or have grown-up children, parenting can be overwhelming, even for the most experienced of parents. When you are a first-time parent or a parent of multiple kids, each season comes with its own challenges, which can affect your mental health, energy levels, and spirit. This can also include healing from infertility or fertility treatments, surrogacy, and pregnancy loss.

Marriage

We help patients who are preparing to get married and need support to work through the adjustment, as well as some common relationship challenges that married couples face, such as not feeling heard by their partner, unmet needs, different values, breaches of trust, and poor communication.

Chronic Pain

Chronic illness and injuries can have significant effects on your overall health and wellbeing, as well as your functioning – including your ability to work, play or parent. Our integrative therapy supports may include talk therapies along with some of the alternatives, like yoga to support the body. We will support you with adjustment to these chronic physical concerns and enhance your quality of life.

Lifestyle Changes

Coming out of the pandemic, many of us are struggling with “getting going”, and have become so comfortable within our four walls that getting out to activities or hobbies again feels like a mountainous task! Maybe you have also picked up unhealthy lifestyle behaviors and eating patterns. With evidence showing a link between food and mood, our integrative therapy treatments can get you active, feeling, and eating better.
